Wheels, Inc., Hires John Higginson As Chief Technology Officer

John Higginson has been hired by Wheels, Inc. to be their new Chief Technology Officer. He joined the company on January 2. Higginson will develop and manage the company's client-facing applications, systems infrastructure and security, telecommunications, internal networks, and business continuance functions.

Higginson started career as a software developer, network engineer, and development manager. In 1997, he became EVP of Technology for Applied Systems, one of the largest privately-held software development and services companies in Illinois. At Applied, he built the first cloud-based solutions and real-time trading systems for the insurance industry. He subsequently sold the company for more than sixteen times the value in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.

He then moved to FTD Companies, Inc. in 2006 where he served as EVP, Chief Technology Officer.
