Chicago Chapter Holds Elections, OEM Presentations

In what turned out to be a very busy day, the Chicago Chapter convened at McCormick Place on February 14. The location choice accommodated the post-meeting trip to the Chicago Auto Show, but first there were matters to attend to. After the breakfast buffet and some friendly networking, Chapter Chair Diane Lopez promoted the 2014 I&E Chapter Challenge, with $1,000 to the winning chapter on the line. She asked attendees to take advantage of the programs offered at the I&E and register as soon as possible.

After that, Erica Wallace Fine, Chapter Nominating Chair, conducted chapter officer elections with the following results:
Traditionally, the auto show meetings are preceded by OEM representatives who are introducing the new model year advancements. Joe McDonald, Affiliates Chair, introduced manufacturer’s representatives who, in turn, gave attendees a brief preview of what they would see on the show floor. Automakers Audi, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo all gave attendees a look behind the curtain at Model Year 2015 and the technology beyond it.

Afterward, attendees took in the Chicago Auto Show where chapter members were able to see some of the cars up close. Meetings such as these are crucial to fleet managers because they can inform a selector list process as few other opportunities can. Chapter meetings have the ability to take attendees inside the processes that affect you -- from safety to finances, from new products to best practices --  and can help you be better at what you do.
