In Memoriam: Mike G. Moneymaker (1948-2014)

Mike G. Moneymaker, Director of Transportation Services for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 22. He was 66.

A Member since 1979, Mike was a Club NAFA member as well as a Member of the Atlanta Chapter. Mike had developed a very rare form of lung disease, which required him to have a lung transplant. Mike unfortunately never received this transplant, but he did donate after his death in hope of helping someone else live a better life.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and was with the University of Tennessee for more than 37 years. He helped establish the Smoky Mountain Soccer League, and was a huge Big Orange (University of Tennessee sports) fan.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Vickie Moneymaker; children, Christopher Moneymaker, and wife Christy, Jeffrey Moneymaker, and Brandi Moneymaker; grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Hayden, and William Moneymaker; mother-in-law, Jean Fowler; sister-in-law, Nancy Evans; nephew, Fowler Evans; niece, Anne Victoria Evans; faithful dog and companion, Sable, and many friends.
