NAFA's Carolinas Chapter Welcomes U.S. Marines' Toys For Tots

Syngenta Crop Protection in Greensboro, NC, was about as far away as one can get from wintry weather on August 12. For the Carolinas Chapter, however, t'was (a little bit like) the season, as it was their Annual Toys for Tots "Christmas In August" Meeting.

The gathering began with Staff Sergeant Remington from the U.S. Marine Corp, informing members about the Toys for Tots program and its significance to North Carolina. This is the Carolinas Chapter's fifth year of sponsoring Toys for Tots.

The education portion of the chapter meeting focused on safety, with presentations from Tom O’Donnell, from the law firm of Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson, and Feary, on "Negligent Entrustment and Vicarious Liability", and from CEI's Southeast Regional Sales Manager Ken Latzko, on how to personalize a fleet safety program. Ken spoke about "micro-targeting" and how these specialized safety alerts could reach drivers the way generalized safety messages may not. "(Our company) has found that communications that reflect a company’s unique culture, brand, and safety experience are more impactful and memorable," Ken said.
