Celebrating Membership Milestones

Betty Linck started her fleet career in 1975 with a Fortune 500 company, subsequently joining NAFA in 1980. Since then, she has served in various capacities on the National Board of Governors over 23 years, has been twice-nominated for Fleet Manager of the Year (1996 and 2007), and was the recipient of the Outstanding Chapter Award in 2000. While now retired, Betty remains an active Member of NAFA, serving five terms as Chapter Chair of the Inter-County Chapter.

"I'm proud to be one of the few fleet professionals to complete the Wharton CFM program," Betty said, and is in fact an alumnus of the third graduating class. The CFM is the precursor of the CAFM® program.

"In 1990, I went into the Public Sector as Fleet Director for the town of Greenwich, CT, until 2009 when I retired," Betty said. "As Fleet Director many objectives were achieved, including meeting the requirements for an ASE Blue Seal facility since 2005, with pay increases for the technicians; successfully outsourcing the parts room function in 1999; and implementing Outcome Based Budget for four fiscal years. Because of these, the department received recognition as a Top 100 Best Fleets in North America for four consecutive years, and achieved a ranking of number fourteen in 2009."

Betty is currently living in Green Valley, AZ. "I have made a complete circle to my first love, working with animals, which was my first job. I have been volunteering at the Animal League of Green Valley, a no kill rescue shelter, for the past five years. In addition to caring for the dogs, I have been working in the medical area with our local veterinarian."
