NAFA's New York-InterCounty Hit The New York Auto Show

While brochures and sales materials are helpful, there is no replacement for seeing actual vehicles in person. On April 7, that’s what awaited the New York-InterCounty Chapter of NAFA, which held its annual New York International Auto Show meeting last month.

Attendees met at the entrance to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Midtown New York and received their tickets which were donated by Subaru and GM.  Thirty-five members and guests attended the show and perused the large selection of vehicles shown at the show including new vehicles from Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, and many other automakers.  New sustainable vehicles were prominent including the new Toyota Mirai which is expected to be available in the American market in the near future.

The New York Auto show meeting provides a place for fleet managers in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to review vehicles currently in the market, new vehicles, and vehicles that are retooling for future years.  Fleet managers are responsible for ensuring that they’re up to date on the latest in vehicles and accompanying technology, which makes events like these so important to fleet professionals.

After the show, attendees convened at the West Side Steakhouse for lunch and networking.  Chapter Chair Jim Reinish discussed upcoming chapter events and participants were able to discuss the many aspects of fleet management among themselves during a wonderful lunch.

We want to encourage fleet managers from the New York-InterCounty chapter and other chapters to plan to attend next year’s meeting.  The show is scheduled for March 25 - April 3, 2016, so it is likely the meeting will be the last week of March (March 29 or March 31).  Mark your calendars now and plan to be at the Javits Convention Center with the NAFA New York-InterCounty Chapter at the 2016 New York International Auto Show!
