NAFA's Alabama Chapter Hosts 2015 Southern Regional Conference

So, what made the 2015 Southern Regional NAFA Conference, hosted by NAFA's Alabama Chapter, such a success? According to NAFA Central Region Trustee Sandy Leonard, lots of preparation and ambition went into the event which took place October 4-6 in Orange Beach, Alabama. "The first step began approximately a year ago. The Alabama Chapter officers decided what topics we wanted to present this year, and we wanted to bring that 'NAFA National' level of knowledge and professionalism to the (event). So we sought out the best presenters with relevant topics for the meeting."

Featured guests and speakers included Kate Vigneau, CAFM®, NAFA's Director of Professional Development; Tom Johnson, Founder of the 100 Best Fleets program; Al Curtis, Fleet Director for Cobb County Government in Marietta, GA; Robert Gordon, Superintendent, DeKalb County Fleet Management, Stone Mountain, GA; T.J. Tennant, Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Engineer; Dan Shive, Vice President of Risk Management for LeasePlan USA who discussed telematics, firearms, and drug policy; and Angie Kopec, a licensed CTRS therapist who discussed anxiety and stress.

"We also offered The CAFM® Test Drive that several members took advantage of," Leonard added while maintaining that plenty of time was offered in the afternoon for networking and to enjoy the weather at Orange Beach.
