Celebrating Membership Milestones

December 2015

35 years

Willard H. DaSilva
Attorney At Law
New City, NY

In 1960, when NAFA was in its infancy, it retained Willard H. DaSilva ("Bill") to provide a structure for its future growth by creating NAFA’s bylaws, which with little change have continued for more than fifty years. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from New York University and received his law degree from Columbia University Law School.

He has become a leader of the profession of law, having lectured throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, in addition to numerous appearances on local and national radio and television programs, as well as his published books and hundreds of articles. He is known for unique solutions to difficult legal issues.

Among Bill’s philanthropic activities, he is a founder of New York Jewish Medical Center and a trustee of North Shore University – Cornell Medical College, which combined to create the North Shore University Health System, the largest provider of health services in the New York metropolitan area. Reflective of his dedication to NAFA, in the March, 2007, issue of the Fleet Executive, Bill said: "For almost 50 years I have had the rewarding experience of serving a group of dedicated fleet managers who, through NAFA, have achieved international recognition as true professionals."
