British Columbia Invests $ 11.9 Million In Its Innovative Clean Energy Fund

On March 2, Premier Christy Clark announced a massive investment of $11.9 million into British Columbia’s Innovative Clean Energy Fund. This fund will finance three specific programs focused on supporting clean-energy vehicles, clean air, and clean water.

The province will invest $6.89 million into the fund in order to encourage further incentives to purchase electric vehicles or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles along with charging infrastructure.

"Encouraging environmentally friendly transportation is part of our broader plan to ensure British Columbia remains a climate action leader," declared the Premier. "Last December in Paris, B.C. became the fourteenth member of the Zero Emission Vehicle Alliance, joining leading jurisdictions such as Germany, the United Kingdom, and west coast partners California and Oregon in a commitment to accelerate the global transition to zero-emission vehicles. This is another step towards making that happen."

British Columbia’s continued efforts to encourage clean energy has positioned itself as a leader for environmentally friendly transportation in Canada.
