NAFA’s Nation’s Capital Chapter held their July meeting at the Dejana Cargo & Van Body Equipment facility in Baltimore, MD.
The facility was opened in the spring of 2005 when the company embarked on a new business venture to manufacture and distribute cube and dry freight equipment. This 80,000 square foot facility features a nine-station assembly line, a heated cross draft paint spray booth, and CNC fabrication capability.
In 2009 the facility was selected by Ford to provide ship-thru services for dealerships in the Eastern United States. Recently, this location was selected as a ship-thru for the RAM ProMaster City and the Chevy City Express. The facility features five multi-station assembly lines that can install Transit Connect interior packages from a variety of manufacturers as well as custom fleet work for any requirement.
While lunch was being set up, the facility allowed attendees to tour their plant and see each step of construction from start to finish.
Chapter Chair Dale Collins, CAFM® discussed upcoming events including the 2017 Washington Auto Show January 27 through February 2, 2017.
