On July 17, more than 130 fleet professionals enjoyed the 27th edition of NAFA's Wisconsin Chapter golf outing. The theme this year was "carnival," and the excitement and laughter throughout the entire day were non-stop. The golf event took place at the Chapter's favorite location, the Western Lakes course in Pewaukee, Wis.
Before the round began, attendees tried their luck at a ring toss game, with all proceeds going to this year’s charity, Paralyzed Veterans of America. Participants gathered for the educational session covering new features on cars from past generations.
With the virtually ideal weather, people moved on to the course to test their golfing and, in some cases, possibly mathematical skills. All of the holes had prizes, but one hole was of particular interest using an air-cannon to shoot the ball. This hole garnered a donation for our selected charity.
Leaving no one behind on the course, we moved on to the much-anticipated meal and we were honored to have U.S. Army retired Chief Warrant Officer Scott Griffith representing the Paralyzed Veterans of America – Wisconsin Chapter join us. Griffith spoke to the group about the great need and the many services and resources offered by the PVA to Wisconsin veterans. The chapter presented a check for $2,400 to Griffith and the PVA.
With the door prizes handed out, stomachs filled, and stories recounted, attendees dispersed with the knowledge that next July we will all gather again for golf.
