On May 30, the Ontario Chapter held its annual golf tournament, deciding that after 20+ years at the same location that they needed to change it up. The chapter not only changed the venue, they also changed the format, making it a charity event.

State legislators in Maine have approved a bill prohibiting the sale of corn-based ethanol. However, the ban only goes in effect if ten other states or a number of states with the collective population of thirty million pass similar bills. Maine’s bill is now in front of the state’s governor for signature, the final step necessary to make it law.

GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt announced on June 12 the appointment of Keith Sherin as Chairman and CEO of GE Capital, succeeding Mike Neal, who is retiring. Immelt also announced that GE Capital CFO Jeff Bornstein will succeed Sherin as CFO of GE. The appointments are effective July 1, 2013.
