New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced a $19 million truck voucher incentive program to encourage the purchase of battery-electric commercial trucks as well as other energy-efficient transportation, including hybrid and compressed natural gas trucks. The electric truck vouchers are available immediately with vouchers accepted for purchases of eligible vehicles meeting program guidelines.
Range Resources Corporation announced on August 7 that the company's vehicle fleet is now being largely fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG). Range officials were joined for an event attended by public- and private-sector leaders as well as environmental and nonprofit organizations.
Alfred A. Hawley, 92, of Salem, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013. September would have marked his 50th anniversary with NAFA. Alfred was a fleet professional with 3M Corporation. Alfred served in the U.S. Navy and retired from 3M after 33 years of service.
Eric Steier, of Oakville, ON, Canada, passed away peacefully with his wife Eva by his side on November 7, 2012. He had been a NAFA Member since 1976. Eric was hired in 1957 by Canadian Pittsburgh Industries as Branch Accounting Clerk. He rose to Office Manager, transferred to head office as Senior Auditor, and retired in 1990 as Manager of Administration.

A group of co-workers from Ocean County, NJ, are apparently the holders of one of three winning Powerball tickets splitting a $448 million jackpot. The 16 employees of the Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department in Toms River, NJ, took part in a pool for the ticket bought at the Acme supermarket in Little Egg Harbor.
