General Motors Co. filed a motion in a U.S. bankruptcy court to enforce a bar on lawsuits related to ignition defects in cars sold before its 2009 bankruptcy as it fights a class action lawsuit that seeks to set aside the restriction. The plaintiffs also filed a class action lawsuit on April 21, seeking an order declaring that GM cannot use the bankruptcy protection to absolve itself from liabilities.

On April 21, Pennsylvania American Water announced plans to expand its fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles to its northeast Pennsylvania operations. As a result of Act 13 funding recently awarded by Governor Tom Corbett, the company will receive a $315,000 grant for CNG-fueled vehicles.

NAFA was saddened to learn of the passing of NAFA Member Jeff Coleman, Senior Fleet Manager for Time Warner Cable's West Region. Jeff passed away on April 23 from pneumonia, at an all-too-early age of 56. Jeff was NAFA Pacific Southwest Chapter Chair 2008-2009.
