After being highly criticized by Canadians, the media, and political pundits for failing to pull through on the campaign promise on electoral reform, the Liberals knew they needed to fulfill their promise on the legalization of marijuana. On Thursday, April 13, the Government introduced two pieces of legislation, one dealing with the legalization and one dealing with amendments to impaired driving regulations.

North Dakota State senators passed House Bill 1430, introduced by House Minority Leader Corey Mock in a 37-9 vote. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has signed the legislation into law. Under the bill, a driver could be cited and fined $100 for distracted driving if he or she commits a traffic offense or is involved in an accident while distracted.

NAFA is saddened to report the passing of Associate Member Mary Olson, Regional Sales Manager for Wheels Inc., and member of NAFA's North Central Chapter. She passed away at the age of 60 on Friday, April 7 due to complications of a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Following earlier social media buzz, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted last month that the company is planning to unveil a semi truck in September, as well as a pickup truck in the next 18 to 24 months. The big truck was first hinted at last July, when Musk unveiled his "Master Plan, Part Deux."
