Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) increased 1.33 percent month-over-month in April. This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 132.5, which was a 6.3 percent increase from a year ago and the highest level since last November.

Auto manufacturers have launched a new tool to facilitate auto recalls by allowing vehicle fleet managers and others to search for open recalls for thousands of autos at once, free of charge. This search tool will allow authorized users to search for open recalls for up to 10,000 vehicles at once and get results usually within a matter of seconds.
The Highway Trust Fund is the primary source of federal funding for highway and mass-transit in the United States, yet it is projected to become insolvent by 2021. Studies suggest using a mileage-based tax to raise revenue for the fund in lieu of the gas tax currently used.

Canadian new car sales have been on a hot streak. Last year saw Canada’s first ever “two million market,” an important threshold in the industry’s history. While this great news gets attributed to dealers and manufacturers in the country, and to OEMs in other jurisdictions who supply this market, 20 percent of sales last year, or close to 400,000 units - are fleet-destined vehicles with different regulatory and operational requirements than consumer vehicles. Fleet's market influence is not recognized at a level commensurate to its legislative needs.
