NAFA's annual conference, Institute & Expo (I&E), has eclipsed its conference and Expo registrations record previously set in 2013. With the final numbers in hand, NAFA proudly announces that 1,166 fleet professionals registered for its 2018 I&E, which took place April 24-27 in Anaheim, Calif. I&E remains the industry's largest learning and networking event by bringing together the most fleet professionals year after year.

The NAFA Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization formed in 1976 to support the vehicle fleet industry, reached a milestone by raising more than $26,000 in just 10 days – headlined by Element Fleet Management’s $15,000 kick-off pledge. The NAFA Foundation launched its capital campaign on April 24, 2018, at NAFA's annual Institute & Expo. Element announced its pledge that day, providing significant momentum to the campaign.

President Trump has instructed Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to launch an investigation into the threats posed by imported automobiles and auto parts on national security. The investigation, previously used to impose tariffs on aluminum and steel, sets up an avenue for Trump to slap tariffs on auto imports.
On May 24, Representatives Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) and John Larson (D-Conn.) introduced legislation promote national security and jobs through the use of natural gas to fuel heavy-duty trucks and fleet vehicles. H.R. 5959, the Natural Gas Parity Act of 2018, would incentivize the use of natural gas-fueled vehicles by extending the expired Alternative Fuels Tax Credit of fifty cents per gallon through 2022.
