Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) increased 1.25 percent month-over-month in May. This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 134.2, which was a 4.9 percent increase from a year ago and the highest level since last November.

H.R. 3388, the SELF DRIVE Act, passed the House with bipartisan support on September 6, 2017. Now the House Energy and Commerce Committee is encouraging the Senate to take action on the legislation.
The Diesel Emission Reduction Act's Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program would receive $100 million in funding under the House FY 2019 Interior and Environment appropriations bill passed by the House Appropriations Committee on June 6. If enacted, funding for the program will increase 33 percent over the current year funding level of $75 million.

Cannabis is now one step closer to being legalized in Canada, despite opposition from conservative senators and employer groups. On June 7, 2018, the Senate approved legislation to legalize marijuana by a vote of 56 to 30, with nearly four dozen amendments included. The bill will now go back to the House of Commons, where amendments will need to be approved or rejected.
