The 2019 NAFA Legislative Fly-In began on Thursday, September 26, with a day of deep-dive sessions and accompanying discussions on key issues and challenges facing fleet managers and their organizations. Many fleet managers across the country are transportation sustainability leaders in their local communities through the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities Coalition Network. DOE engaged with NAFA members during the meeting to discuss where the program was headed and how NAFA could strengthen its partnerships to have more members get engaged in the Clean Cities effort.

Remarketing Strategy
Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) decreased 1.04% month-over-month in September. This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 139.9, flat from a year ago and off the record high for the Index. Weekly Manheim Market Report (MMR) prices showed increasing depreciation as September progressed. Most of the summer had low depreciation before the accelerating depreciation pattern marked an abrupt shift in season. The weekly pattern most resembled the pattern from last October, when prices began to normalize following an abnormally strong summer and early fall.
