For the past two years, Debra L. Overstreet, ACP, has faithfully served NALA as Board President. Before that, she served in several other volunteer positions with NALA. Now that her term has come to an end, we want to share our heartfelt appreciation for her dedication to NALA and the paralegal profession. We wish her the best in her future endeavors. Whether you know Debbie from her Deb’s Details videos, conference, or serving with her, it is no secret that her passion for paralegals is unrivaled. She has been a NALA member for over 25 years, recently earning Honorary Member status. She has been a Certified Paralegal for nearly as long and has furthered her legal education with multiple Advanced Certified Paralegal credentials. Debbie, you are an inspiration, and you will be missed.

Legal experts, you still have two weeks to submit a proposal to speak at the 2025 NALA Conference & Expo in Atlantic City, NJ, July 10-12. If you are passionate about the legal field and want to share your expertise, this is your chance. You can present on any topic related to the legal profession on any level from basic to advanced. If you do not have a topic in mind, we have some ideas for you. You also have the option of speaking on one of the areas of the CP® Exam, such as bankruptcy or torts. The September 1 deadline is just around the corner, so be sure to explore the details and submit your proposal here.

If you have been looking for a sign to check out our ACP® courses, this is it! We have recently released three new ACP® courses with 20 CLE hours each. The Personal Injury course is brand new! The Discovery course and Business Organizations: Incorporated Entities course have been revamped! If you do not have those ACPs under your belt, we highly recommend checking them out. Do not forget that you save $50 on each course as a member. ACP® courses are a great way to expand your knowledge, earn CLE credits, and establish yourself as an expert in a given area.
