Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) Technical Director Buzz Powell will present during the Perpetual Pavement Conference in Louisville, Kentucky Oct. 28-30. Powell examines the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) Test Track’s eight research cycles so far in a white paper titled “A Historical Overview of the Diverse Perpetual Pavements on the NCAT Pavement Test Track,” which he will present on during the conference.
The IMPACT Leadership Group Conference heads to Washington, D.C. Sept. 24-25. NAPA will host a webinar on Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. ET to help familiarize new attendees with conference programming, as well as to answer questions.

The NAPA 2024 Perpetual Pavement Conference is heading to Louisville, Kentucky Oct. 28-30 for a series of discussions on long-lasting pavements at the intersection of taxpayer stewardship and engineering innovation. The month of August is a prime opportunity for NAPA members to engage with their congressional representatives since the elected officials have no official business in Washington and often spend the month in their home districts. NAPA’s Government Affairs team is available to help facilitate office visits, plant tours, and provide more support as requested.
Duval Asphalt and ATS hosted Rep. Aaron Bean (R-FL) in Jacksonville, Florida this month. The Transportation Research Board (TRB) will convene its 7th International Conference on Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) July 20-24, 2025 in Auburn, Alabama and is seeking author submissions until Nov. 1. The International Conference on the Decarbonization of Asphalt Pavements will be held Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, 2025, in Chicago. Researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry experts are invited to submit abstracts by Nov. 1. Associate members are invited to participate in a survey to identify the resources, educational tools, and training programs needed to enhance sustainability practices within the asphalt pavement industry. The NAPA IMPACT Leadership Group has new opportunities for emerging leaders in the asphalt pavement industry.
Those seeking to hold a position are required to fill out a nomination form by Aug. 30. Those elected will serve Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2026, in one of 21 vacant member positions.
