Honored to Lead NAPFA!
By Kathryn Dattomo
It is an incredible honor for me to lead and serve this outstanding organization as CEO. I am grateful to the search committee for its efforts and to the NAPFA Board of Directors for selecting me for this important role. I would like to thank the amazing NAPFA staff and the many NAPFA members I have already met for giving me such a warm welcome. Your passion for Fee-Only, fiduciary advising and your enthusiasm for NAPFA are irresistible.
40th Anniversary
It is significant to me that I am joining NAPFA as CEO as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary. Forty is a milestone often marked by both reflection and transformation. Building on its strong legacy, NAPFA is well-positioned to lead our members through the opportunities, trends, and challenges facing the profession in the coming years.
For 40 years, NAPFA has been the standard bearer for Fee-Only, fiduciary financial advisors, providing education, professional connections, business development resources, and advocacy in support of member success. NAPFA’s first newsletter reported 68 members. Today, NAPFA is a vibrant community of more than 4,500 members, as our membership has doubled over the past decade. As the premier resource for Fee-Only planners, we will expand the breadth of our offerings to meet the evolving needs of our growing membership, both now and in the future. We will champion diversity in the profession and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion across the fabric of the organization. And we will advocate Fee-Only financial planning through public policy and to consumers.
Looking Ahead
Over the next few months, I will continue to observe, listen, and learn. I will bring my unique experience and perspective to upholding the organization’s strong priorities and expanding its reach to advance NAPFA, the member community, and the Fee-Only financial planning profession. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and all that we will achieve together.
I enjoyed meeting many more of you in person this month in San Diego during the NAPFA Spring Conference. If you couldn’t join us in San Diego, I hope to meet you virtually soon, or at the Fall 2023 Conference, Oct. 18–21 in Louisville.
