From Vision to Impact: Evaluating Education Through Committee Transformation

As part of our strategic framework, NAPFA strives to provide professional excellence by delivering educational experiences designed to elevate competency and contribute to the professional success of affiliated advisors. To contribute to the success of this initiative, NAPFA regularly engages practitioners to help identify educational priorities, curate high-quality content, review and assess the performance of current program offerings, suggest and create an annual education plan, oversee the planning and direction of all live conferences and online education, and serve as subject matter experts. These essential functions contribute to the availability and quality of the programs and education that influence the professional development of NAPFA stakeholders and drive engagement within the association.

Recently, NAPFA has restructured our Professional Development & Education (PD&E) Committee to elevate the education we offer our members. This new structure is designed to foster collaboration, streamline the planning processes, and ensure alignment with our goal of delivering high-quality, impactful education. Here is how the changes will shape the future of our educational initiatives.

New Name: Education Committee

The PD&E Committee will now be known as the Education Committee. The reason for this name change is to simply reflect the effort to be more concise, comprehensive, and representative of the committee’s purpose. The Education Committee will determine the education for the organization based on the strategic goals for the year and serve as the governing body to all of NAPFA’s education. Thus, the committee will be supported by two subcommittees to carry out its vision: Live Education and Online Education.

Live Education Subcommittee

The purpose of the Live Education Subcommittee is to oversee the planning, development, and execution of NAPFA’s Spring and Fall Conferences, Annual Large Firm Forum, and any other live educational events related to the organization. The Live Education Subcommittee will identify relevant, unique, and compelling topics that will be a part of the live education programs offered by NAPFA. The subcommittee will ensure these events align with the organization's educational initiatives and mission, and provide valuable learning opportunities for all participants.

Online Education Subcommittee

The purpose of the Online Education Subcommittee is to oversee the planning, development, and execution of NAPFA’s online education content. The Online Education Subcommittee will identify relevant, unique, and compelling topics that will be part of the virtual learning programs offered by NAPFA. The primary purpose of the Online Education Subcommittee is to develop an annual slate of virtual learning sessions that complement the programs offered at NAPFA conferences and other live events.

Each subcommittee will have designated members who focus on key education programs to ensure NAPFA’s educational goals are met. From elevating our live educational experiences to broadening our digital education, the restructuring of our committee represents a step toward the advancement of NAPFA’s commitment to delivering exceptional education to our members. We are confident this new structure will set the stage for impactful learning opportunities. We encourage members to share their feedback and suggestions as we implement this exciting new approach.
