Takeaways from NAPFA Spring Conference

By Kathryn Dattomo

Wow! Fresh off another great spring conference, I’m both excited and motivated, and maybe just a bit sad to see it end. Before we start getting ready for the fall event, I want to savor some of the takeaways from this one. Even though our theme was on the timely topic of AI and future technologies, it was clear to me throughout the event that the past, present, and future of Fee-Only advisory is still the human element. The connections, friendships, and conversations at our conferences are so full of energy and are truly the foundation of the work our members provide their clients and the profession at large.

Thank you to our keynote speakers, Jonathan Sprinkles, Jim Dolmas, and Sonya Lutter, for diving into such important topics and to all our speakers who bring so much knowledge and insights. Thank you to Fort Worth and the Omni Hotel in particular for their hospitality. Thank you to our conference sponsors and exhibitors for your invaluable support. Thank you to the Planning Committee and everyone who came together to make this another great conference.

By the way, did you know if you could not join us in person, you can still register for the NAPFA Spring 2024 Virtual Experience to access recordings from each session in Fort Worth? Click here to learn more.

As we transition from the enlightening conference sessions to the in-depth exploration of insurance in this month's articles, we continue to uphold our commitment to providing valuable resources for enhancing your practice. You’ll learn about insuring clients in the LGBTQ+ and military connected communities, as well as insights into insuring your own firm. Our authors aim to provide valuable insights to enhance your practice, including tips on making the most of the summer slow season to bolster your firm and the psychology of retirement.

I hope you find all of this insightful as you kick up your feet and recover from travels, a busy tax season, or just another great week of being a Fee-Only advisor.
