At our 67th Annual Conference in August—attended by over 500 women, allies, and industry partners in Minneapolis, MN—President Lauline Mitchell announced NAWIC’s new partnership with the Calling All Allies Projects (CAAP), led by Dr. Brandi Baldwin. The partnership supports NAWIC’s mission to continue to evolve by fostering a more inclusive culture in our association and the construction industry.
Our taskforce has laid out a plan to ensure that NAWIC can sustain its work in removing the barriers that have kept women out of key roles in the construction industry. Here’s what to expect:
1. Official Partnership Announcement Video - Don’t miss the Dec. 6 Connection Newsletter, where you can be the first to hear about our partnership directly from the Calling All Allies Project team.
2. Let Your Voice Be Heard - Good, bad, or ugly… Our first order of business is getting your perspective on how we can improve NAWIC through a quick, four-minute survey. A link to the survey will be sent out in early December. Your answers will be anonymous and will go directly to the team at CAAP.
NAWIC is again taking big, bold steps in its advocacy for women in the construction industry and its efforts to unite our many paths under one mission. We are excited to ramp up our work with CAAP and hope that you are excited as well! If you have any questions or comments, please contact Executive Director Crissy Ingram at crissyi@nawic.org.
