Welcome to the team, Amber!

This is the last week to get your entries in for the 2020 NAWIC Builds Excellence in Construction Awards! Submissions are due no later than May 1, 2020

We recently did a live-stream discussion with Rita Brown, North Central Region Director, covering all the pertinent information about the awards. You can find the video (and the presentation used in the video) in the Archives, under NAWIC Development, here.

Applications can be found here.

On April 23, we held a Virtual Town Hall to allow members the chance to get to know and pose questions to the 2020-21 National Officer Candidates. Our Town Hall was a great success, and we are so thankful to our amazing candidates and to PNP Sandy Field for moderating.
If you missed the Town Hall, don't worry! You can watch the recording here.
As a reminder, more information about elections and candidates - along with candidate videos - can be found here.

Industry Update
A large share of construction firms promptly received loan funds under the new Paycheck Protection Program, enabling many of them to hire or retain employees despite a surge in project cancellations, according to a survey released by the Associated General Contractors of America.

Renovation projects in or near hospitals require contractors to work by a specific set of protocols in order to protect the health of patients, many of whom are extremely vulnerable to infection. According to recent research, though, some construction companies that take on these types of projects are not providing adequate training to their workers and subcontractors on how to avoid creating the jobsite conditions that could have a negative impact on patients.
