Michelle started in April 2024 as the Administrative Assistant. In her day to day, she assists members and staff with questions and day to day operations. She also orders supplies for the NAWIC office staff and organizes and scans files. Her Favorite part about working for NAWIC is the flexibility and the relationships that she has built with members and the national staff.
This week we are introducing Michelle McClendon. Michelle is focused on building sustainably for the education and public market sectors and hopes to inspire lasting change through smart sustainable choices. She combines her strong technical building skills and hands-on, collaborative approach to effectively support Gilbane’s clients and construction teams to execute and deliver safe and successful projects. She is committed to promoting sustainability and is a primary stakeholder in providing direction to clients, team members, and subcontractors in the planning and execution of healthy and high-performing projects that directly impact local communities. Education / Training
A recent LinkedIn post characterized construction professionals as reactive, micromanagers who have little empathy, don’t work well in groups, and have low job satisfaction or happiness. I can’t get behind that representation of our industry professionals. Are there some who display some of those descriptors? Of course. It struck me as a gross overgeneralization. I preferred to focus on the question as to whether construction and technical professionals are coachable. To that I answer with a definitive YES. Click the link below to read more.
NEF is solely supported by sponsorships and donations and its Ladder Club of Success offers individuals the opportunity to support NEF with one-time or reoccurring automatic donations. Your financial support educates others through various programs and construction industry education courses. Fundraising is also done by NEF Fundraising Liaisons at a Regional and Chapter level.
