If you missed the online Annual Conference registration, registration will still be avaliable onsite in Houston. Visit nawic.org for more information.
The Ismaili Center will serve as a gathering place for learning, worship, and engagement for Houston’s 40,000 Ismaili Muslims. In collaboration with Farshid Moussavi and His Highness the Aga Khan, the Ismaili Center will be rooted in the deep traditions of Islamic art, architecture, and landscape, with a design that employs craft techniques and patterns through geometric mosaic flooring and ultra high-performance concrete screens. The 164,500 SF building features numerous bespoke materials including architectural concrete, marble from Turkey and fabricated in Italy, glazing from Germany, and specialized high-performance concrete fabricated in Mexico. This international project raises the design bar of Houston and serves as one of seven centers around the world.
