The NEHES Board of Directors held a virtual Strategic Planning Retreat. While we all would have preferred to be in person, we were able to focus on the items which will be critical for NEHES going forward. As always, outstanding education programs will be a key item for 2021: Engaging the chapters and growing NEHES Membership.

The focus on education programs is already evident with the NEHES Chapter Webinar Series in full swing. NEHES members can now attend state chapter meetings held virtually. Watch for email announcements, listing in the NEHES Newsletter and on the NEHES website.

When I started as NEHES president in January of this year, I would never have predicted what we have seen happen. But, even with all the challenges, this year has reminded me why being a part of the NEHES community is so important. Time and time again this year when things needed to get done, members have stepped up, even when it was just one more thing on the very long list of things to do. NEHES members can always be counted on!

As we approach the holiday season, I hope that each of you will be able to find new ways to safely gather with friends and family. Holiday traditions may need to be adjusted for social distancing but finding time for family and friends is so important.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and be safe!
