How has NEHES/ASHE contributed to your career?
I am new to healthcare (2 months), and these organizations have provided an insight into the companies and professionals within the healthcare industry.

What is your background in the healthcare facilities field?
I am a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy with a marine engineering technology degree. From there, I worked in Facilities management at Fairchild Semiconductor from 2000 to 2008. The majority of the equipment and maintenance practices in healthcare are very similar to the semiconductor industry. This experience gave me the knowledge and management skills to transition into healthcare.

Do you have a personal tidbit to share?
I spent the majority of the last 14 years working all over the world in the oil and gas industry... Nigeria, Gabon, Cyprus, Singapore, Canary Islands, South Korea, and Houston.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Every day a different challenge presents itself. After nearly 30 years I have moved back to my hometown and work at the local hospital. Providing care for the people of my home town is very rewarding to me.

What are your plans for future growth?
I will sit for my CHFM certification when ready and plan to participate in and encourage others to join NEHES/ASHE.
