Managing the Way Your Facility uses Energy is No Small Challenge – CPower Can Help
CPower Energy Management®
CPower can help your organization monetize its energy assets, and manage your Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) - like energy storage, solar PV, fuel cells, wind generation, and more. To ensure your patient's high-quality care, your organization consumes a great deal of energy at all hours of the day. What if you could reduce your organization’s energy costs AND earn revenue for using less energy?

Attention all NEHES members! Did you recently receive an ASHE certification? We'd like to highlight your accomplishment in an upcoming newsletter. Please complete the form below to let us know which certificate you received this year.
The candidates for the 2024 ASHE Elections have been selected, and voting will open on Sunday, July 21 at the Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference. All ASHE members will receive voting instructions and a personal link on July 21.

Several NEHES members are up for election, and we encourage you to vote for candidates from our chapter!
To assist with education planning, the New England Healthcare Engineers' Society is soliciting abstracts for presentations at the 2024 Fall Conference, taking place Sept. 22-25 in Stowe, Vermont. Abstracts must be submitted through this web form.

We ask that all abstracts support the conference theme: "Innovation and Capital Revitalization: Thinking Outside the Box." Each abstract submission should include four specific learning objectives to help identify what attendees will be able to apply in their workplace following your session.

While we are open to all proposals, topics of interest include construction project management, value engineering, creative staffing, ICRA 2.0, working with the C-suite, ASHRAE, and codes/standards – NFPA/DNV/TJC.

The deadline to submit your abstract is June 14. Selected presenters will be notified by July 3.
Corporate Membership in NEHES is now available at a group rate to manufacturers, vendors, contractors, distributors, service providers, architects, and other professionals. Corporate Membership is open to companies that directly support New England-based healthcare provider organizations or medical research facilities and to businesses that interact with NEHES members. Corporate members must have administrative, supervisory, or management responsibility for tasks or duties that fall within the broad field of healthcare engineering.

Each year, ASHE recognizes 10 exceptional Emerging Leaders, one from each ASHE region, for their demonstrated commitment to the field and interest in developing future leadership skills. NEHES is proud to announce that Wally Rucki, CHFM, has been selected for this prestigious award for 2024!

Wally Rucki is a 2007 graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a bachelor's degree in marine engineering. Following graduation, he spent the next 13 years actively going to sea with four years on oil tankers and nine years on a global-classed oceanographic research vessel. He "sailed" his way up to Unlimited Chief Engineer, at the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. After making the decision to stop sailing, he spent the next two years working as a port engineer for the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. Then he transitioned to building and implementing a preventative maintenance system across four campuses and 5.5 million square feet for Tufts University. Since 2006, Wally has also served his community as a paramedic, NRP. While he has truly enjoyed each of the jobs and careers in the past, these experiences have led him to where he is today as the Director of Facilities & Plant Operations for Northeast Hospital Corporation, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health. Wally has been in this position and a member of NEHES since February 2022.

Wally is currently serving as the Secretary of the NEHES Massachusetts Chapter. His diverse professional accomplishments, chapter leadership, and dedication to the hospital facilities industry are certainly why he was selected as the 2024 ASHE Emerging Regional Leader!
