The National Joint TERT Initiative (NJTI) – the partnership between APCO and NENA to promote the Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) Program – recently announced that George Long and Chris Kindlespire have stepped down as NJTI Co-Chairs. NENA seeks applicants for the Interoperability Program Manager position. The Interoperability Program Manager is responsible for selling, invoicing, and directly marketing the Enhanced PSAP Registry and Census (EPRC) and the Company ID (CID) Program to the 9-1-1 industry. This will include End User License Agreement (EULA) negotiations, service contracts for enterprise integrations, and work with their direct supervisor on strategic planning for NENA Interoperability programs. This position is responsible for developing, testing, production, evaluation, content review, and revision of the NENA Interoperability programs. The success of this role is defined by the customer deriving continuous value from the EPRC and CID programs. This role closely partners with NENA leadership and other stakeholders to work cross-functionally to help identify opportunities for improvement. Click here to learn more and apply. The NENA Security for Next Generation 9-1-1 Standard establishes the minimal guidelines and requirements for the protection of NG9-1-1 assets or elements within a changing business environment. Members of the Working Group can download the document and submit comments by going here and then selecting Add a Comment from the Edit icon drop-down menu. All others may download the document and submit comments by going here and then selecting Add a Comment from the Document Actions icon drop-down menu. Please complete all requested data and click Save or, if submitting multiple comments, click Save and Add Another. If you are providing editorial comments, such as corrections to typos, grammatical errors, style/numbering errors, or incorrect references/links to documents, please document them under one comment and list the page and line number for each (ex. Page 22, Line 761: Correct moist to most). If the correction is within a table, please provide the table name and page number of the error and your recommended change. All comments are due by December 11, 2023. You may contact the NENA Committee Resource Manager with any questions or concerns.

NENA is accepting applications for its Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Special Committee, which explores how NENA, as an organization, and 9-1-1, as a public-safety service, can better support under-represented populations in this field. The committee provides recommendations to the NENA Board of Directors in response to questions such as:
Ten at-large committee seats will be filled through this application process. Applications are due by 11:59 P.M. Eastern on Monday, November 27. Click here to apply. The Transition to i3 PSAP Working Group will be developing a standard specifying how an agency transitions to fully i3-compliant applications without a forklift upgrade of all applications. The standard will specify how specific applications will need to support both legacy and i3 interfaces to permit continued operations during the transition process. In scope are the following applications: Call Handling Systems, Computer Aided Dispatch and Logging Recorder. The deliverable is intended to be an ANSI-approved standard. A variety of expertise is sought for the volunteers for this work group, such as operational and technical experience. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 2:00PM – 3:30PM Eastern.
