Document Announcements
The NENA Next Generation 9-1-1 United States Civic Location Data Exchange Format (CLDXF-US) Standard supports the exchange of United States civic location address information about 9-1-1 calls, both within the US and internationally. It defines the detailed data elements needed for address data exchange and defines the United States profile of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Presence Information Data Format-Location Object (PIDF-LO) to provide a format for exchange of civic location records. As a companion to CLDXF-US Standard, the Moving Civic Location Data Between Datasets Compliant With the FGDC and NENA CLDXF US Address Data Standards document describes the relationship between the elements in the two standards and provides guidance on conversion of civic location data from one standard to the other. NENA thanks the CLDXF-US Working Group for the hard work committed to the development, publication, and success of these documents.
Volunteers Wanted
NENA seeks volunteers for the Conveyance of EIDO Working Group to shepherd the completed draft standard through the document review process. The resulting document is intended to be an ANSI-approved version of the standard. Specifically, the working group seeks to add members in the User and General Interest categories. A User is one who utilizes 9-1-1 related products or services and a General Interest member is one who does not fit into the User or Producer categories, such as consultants or those who are part of state or federal agencies. The working group meets on Fridays from 2PM - 3PM Eastern. Contact the working group co-chairs with any questions. Click here to volunteer.
