NYSAFC's awards are a special way to honor your peers for their outstanding service to the emergency services industry. Nominate someone deserving for one of these extraordinary honors. NYSAFC members are also encouraged to apply for a scholarship award.
Scholarship Program
The NYSAFC Scholarship Program is offered to enhance, through academic achievement at the college level, the quality of leadership in the fire and life safety field and to assist Active, Associate, and Affiliate association members (and their spouses or children) in their efforts to pursue academic advancement. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2013.

Chief Fred W. Singer Fire Educator of the Year Award - Recognizes outstanding efforts by fire service instructors providing training within New York state. Applicants must be an Individual Member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs in good standing and serve as a fire service instructor, providing training within the state of New York. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2013.

James W. Wright Public Education Award - Honors an individual firefighter, EMT, or emergency services personnel or a department, organization, or association that offers outstanding fire/injury prevention and public life safety education programs in New York state. You do not need to be a NYSAFC member to be eligible for consideration. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2013.

NYSAFC Fire Chief of the Year Awards - Honors a career fire chief and a volunteer fire chief for their exemplary leadership, innovation, professional development, integrity, service to the public, and contributions to the fire service as a whole. Applicants must be an Individual Member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs in good standing. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2013.
