Company Officers Leadership Training (COLT) Begins in Rye Brook

More than 40 students participated in NYSAFC's Company Officers Leadership Training (COLT) program held December 6-7, 2013, at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, N.Y.
NYSAFC developed the COLT program to help strengthen the leadership skills of company officers both on and off the fireground.
Upcoming sites for COLT in 2014 include:
- Capital District – February 7-8, 2014, in Albany, N.Y.
- Monroe County – April 4-5, 2014, in Rochester, N.Y.
The COLT program at each location will feature the following instructors and lectures:
- Friday morning lecture "Managing Firegrounds Successfully" with Chief Lawrence Schultz, District of Columbia Fire & Emergency Medical Services.
- Friday afternoon lecture "So You Want to Be a Company Officer?" with Retired Lieutenant Robert Pressler, FDNY.
- Saturday morning lecture "Leading from the Front" with Chief Lawrence Schultz, District of Columbia Fire & Emergency Medical Services.
Registration for COLT is $150 per person (for NYSAFC Individual and Department Members) and $175 per person for non-members. Both pre-registration and on-site registration will be available at both sites.
