AFDSNY Treasurer Training Available at FIRE 2015

The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York will conduct Treasurer Training in conjunction with the NYSAFC Annual Conference & FIRE 2015 Expo on Wednesday, June 17, at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.
The training is specific to fire district treasurers that are publicly elected by the district residents or appointed (hired) by the fire district board of commissioners. Although this training is geared toward newly elected or appointed treasurers, it will be helpful for more seasoned treasurers to review basic procedures and accounting principles. Topics to be covered include policies, purchasing procedures, property tax cap, spending limitation, basic accounting, reporting requirements, and results of audits.
