NYSAFC Water Rescue Training Held on Long Island

70 students participated in NYSAFC's Water Rescue Training from May 16-17, 2015, in Lawrence, NY. Training was hosted by the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department.
Seminars were held on Saturday, May 16. Programs included "What Can You Do For Us, What Can We Do For You" with Sr. Chief Andrew Merchel and Petty Officer John Lowell (United States Coast Guard, Station Jones Beach), "Drowning, Diving Emergencies, and Hypothermia" with Lieutenant Gary Benedict, EMT-P (FDNY), and "Small Boats for Rescue" with Detective Dave Norman (NYPD Emergency Service Unit).
Water Rescue and EMS Hands-On Training evolutions were conducted on Sunday, May 17, at Cedarhurst Yacht Club - Reynolds Channel.
