Dr. Jon Krohmer Named NHTSA EMS Director
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Jon Krohmer, M.D. will replace Drew Dawson as the EMS director for NHTSA. Krohmer, originally from Michigan, has 30 years of EMS involvement including tenure as president of the National Association of EMS Physicians and most recently working for the Department of Homeland Security. New DOH Regs Take Effect
Changes to Part 800 of New York Codes Rules and Regs took effect on July 20, 2016. Specifically, the new sections, 800.5 (controlled substances requirements for ALS agencies) and 800.12 (updated reciprocity requirements) are now in effect. Also, Part 80.136.e (2) as it relates to controlled substance agents has been amended to have the same wording about criminal convictions as Part 800. You can see it all on the Bureau website.
