At its most recent meeting on September 16, 2016, the NYSAFC board of directors approved an increase in membership dues for 2017. Dues will increase by $5 for Individual Membership to a total of $40 per year. Department Membership dues will increase by $25 to $175 annually. There has not been an increase in dues since 2007.
The rising costs of operation of the not-for-profit association have necessitated this increase. Costs related to the publication of SIZE UP magazine, the free subscription to Firehouse magazine for Individual Members, as well as escalating fees for association website maintenance, training programs, and conferences factored into this decision.
The association has been working hard to provide additional benefits for members. Details on exciting new benefit programs will be released in the coming weeks.
Should you have questions regarding membership or the dues increase, feel free to email Membership Coordinator Brian Forte or call him at (800) 676-FIRE.
