National Registry Releases iPhone App
The National Registry has released an iPhone app to help providers manage their National Registry certifications and recertifications. While New York is not a National Registry state, many EMS providers in New York are Nationally Registered EMTs, AEMTs, and paramedics. Info on the app can be found here. And no, there's not an Android version yet, as fully three quarters of Nationally Registered providers are iOS users.

IAFC Supports Citizen Response Apps
The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) released a position statement supporting the use of mobile apps in conjunction with citizen CPR training and community AED programs to improve cardiac arrest survival. Two counties in New York currently use one such application (Pulse Point) – Saratoga and Suffolk. The position paper and additional information, including recommendations for implementation, can be found here.
