NYSAFC Remembers Past Director Ralph DeBolt

NYSAFC joins in mourning the loss of Past Director Ralph E. DeBolt, retired chief of the Geneva Fire Department, who passed away on March 10, 2019.
A life member of the C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Company, DeBolt joined the Geneva Fire Department as a volunteer in 1969. He became a career firefighter in 1973, served as acting chief in 1986, and led the department as chief from 1987-2005. DeBolt also served as a New York state fire instructor and an Ontario County deputy fire coordinator for many years.
DeBolt joined NYSAFC in 1972 and was a life member of the association. He served as a regional representative for Ontario County and as a member of the Paid Chiefs Committee for many years before serving on the board of directors from 2000-2002. DeBolt was also active with a number of other firematic organizations, including the Career Chiefs of New York State, Ontario County Fire Chiefs Association, and International Association of Arson Investigators.
We honor Ralph DeBolt for his service to NYSAFC and the fire service of New York state. Our sincere condolences to the DeBolt family.
