Department of Health to Roll Out ePCR Platform
The Bureau of EMS and Trauma has announced plans to roll out a free electronic PCR interface during January 2021. The interface, operating on the ImageTrend Elite platform, will allow agencies using paper PCRs to scan the forms into DOH while also keying in vital NEMSIS data fields. It will also feature an abbreviated ePCR form for BLS first response fire departments. While the abbreviated ePCR will not interface with the NEMSIS (federal) data set, DOH will maintain the records and offer reporting using the information contributed, similar to what is currently available to regional program agencies. Finally, agencies that wish to record additional fields that are not included in the NEMSIS data set nor available from their PCR vendor will be able to add those fields using the new portal. More information should be forthcoming through your regional program agencies.

Pediatric Ambulance Transports
The National Association of State EMS Officials has released an updated listing of available equipment for ambulance transport of pediatric patients. There are no federal or consensus standards on devices best able to secure children in ambulances. This revised document lists available equipment along with installation compatibility and cleanability. Access the update here.
