Body Cameras for EMS?
The folks at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of EMS partnered with the EMS law firm Page, Wolfberg & Wirth (PWW) to produce a quick-start guide for EMS body-worn cameras. Not only is violence against EMS providers increasing, but so is the sophistication of EMS practice. Body-worn cameras provide an optimal quality improvement and educational tool, plus serve to protect EMS providers when complaints or assaults occur. It may seem far fetched, but you'd be smart to take a look at the guide here.

Red Lights and Siren Responses
In a recent webinar attended by over 1,000 viewers from across the United States, Niagara Region EMS (Ontario, Canada) described how they reduced their red lights and siren (RLS) responses to a mere 10% of their calls. Definitely a hot topic in EMS circles today! View the webinar recording "Flipping OFF the Switch on HOT Emergency Medical Vehicle Responses" here.
