NYSAFC Past President Dan Schwertfeger Honored for Service with the Floyd Fire Department

On October 16, 2021, the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs joined in honoring association Past President Daniel J. Schwertfeger at a celebration recognizing his decades of dedicated service with the Floyd Fire Department (Oneida County). Representatives from NYSAFC attended the reception held in Whitesboro, NY.
Schwertfeger was honored for his 45-plus years of fire service membership and 35 years of outstanding service as chief of the department. Earlier this year, he was named the New York State Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year.
Schwertfeger led NYSAFC as president from 2015-2016 and he has been a member of the association since 1981.
