More Education and Training Available During FIRE 2011

Look for an expanded education program and an additional Hands-On Training session during NYSAFC’s FIRE 2011 105th Annual Conference & Expo, to be held June 15-18, 2011 at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.

Conference Full Term Registrants can choose from 31 firematic classes, and 13 EMS classes will be offered, where students can earn up to 15 EMS CEUs for attending. Wednesday is an education day only (no exhibits), featuring firematic classes from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thursday will once again include the General Session and Keynote Address open to all attendees. Additional special registration classes for code enforcement personnel and public safety educators will also be offered. 2011 speakers and an educational schedule will be announced soon.

Hands-On Training features six programs for 2011. 8-hour live fire training programs include "Engine Company Operations," "Truck Company Operations," and "Thermal Imaging Camera Operations." 8-hour training programs include "Auto Extrication" and "How Well Do You Know Your SCBA?" New for 2011, NYSAFC will be conducting 2-hour live fire "Flashover Simulator Evolutions" sessions on-site at the Turning Stone! Don’t miss out on this chance to train with some of the industry’s leading fire instructors, right here in New York state. NYSAFC’s Hands-On Training program features small classes, allowing for close student/instructor interaction in an intense fireground environment.

Exhibits are always a focal point of the FIRE expo, and attendees will have the chance to view the latest apparatus, tools, and equipment from hundreds of exhibitors all available to purchase or order from Thursday through Saturday. Free expo One Day Tickets will once again be available from vendors.
