Fire Chiefs Participate in Wreath Laying at Tomb of Unknowns

Fire chiefs from New York state participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. on April 7, 2011. Fire service leaders from across the country were in the nation’s capital at the time for the Congressional Fire Services Institute’s 23rd Annual National Fire & Emergency Services Dinner & Seminars program and were asked to perform the honor of laying the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
NYSAFC Past President and Ex-Chief Robert Holley of East Quogue Fire Department, past president of the Fire Chiefs’ Council of Suffolk County (at right) was joined by Ex-Chief Frank Wakely Jr. of Floral Park Fire Department, president of the Fire Chiefs Council of Nassau County, in placing the wreath.
