A letter from Acting State Fire Administrator John Mueller:
After 34+ years I am retiring effective Thursday, September 29th. As a result of my retirement, along with the retirement of Chief Richard Barlette and the recent retirements of Chief Thomas Wutz and Grants Administrator Carol Purzycki, some management and organizational changes will be implemented for the continued operations of the Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
Effective Thursday, September 29, 2011, Chief Bryant Stevens is designated Chief in Charge of the Office of Fire Prevention and Control. He will be responsible for administration of all OFPC programs and will have the authority to make executive decisions on behalf of the Office of Fire Prevention and Control until the Governor appoints a state fire administrator or an acting state fire administrator is designated.
Working closely with Chief Stevens will be Chief Andrew Dickinson, Chief Ronald Dunn and Chief Paul Martin. Chief Dickinson will be responsible for the management of the Academy of Fire Science, Fire Services Bureau and the Emergency Services Loan Program. Chief Dunn will be responsible for the management of the Hazardous Materials Bureau and the Special Services Bureau. Chief Martin will be responsible for the management of the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Arson Bureau.
I know that each and every Office of Fire Prevention and Control member will do all they can to assist the Chiefs with the tasks at hand and continue to exhibit the dedication and professionalism that is the hallmark of OFPC.
My career with the Office of Fire Prevention and Control has been immensely satisfying and professionally rewarding. I have had the good fortune to have served with so many great people. I will miss the job dearly and will miss working with all of you.
Take care,
John
