NYSAFC Holds Combined Board and Committee Meeting

About 80 members of NYSAFC's leadership from across the state met on November 29, 2011, in Schodack, N.Y. to discuss numerous projects and programs to be implemented in 2012. The Combined Board and Committee Fall Meeting was attended by board members, committee chairs, committee members, and staff.
Here are just a few of the programs and projects members can expect in 2012:
• 2012 NYSAFC Legislative Agenda, which will be released in the coming weeks.
• New programs and activities to be held during the Annual Conference & FIRE 2012 expo in June.
• The Fire Chief's Reference Guide update, which will be available at the Annual Conference.
• The Public Fire Safety Educators’ Conference slated for May.
• A new Water Rescue Conference, which will be held in two locations.
• Future fire education programs.
• The 2012 Emergency Services Leadership Symposium.
• Continued improvements to the association’s printed and electronic communications.
"It’s exciting to get the board and committees together in this type of venue to brainstorm and plan for the coming year," said NYSAFC President Frank "Skip" Sylvester. "Our committees work hard for the good of the association and we are grateful for their time and the outstanding contributions they make throughout the year."
