"I not only use all the brains that I have, but all that I can borrow."

Leaders of all ranks understand that yesterday’s solutions won’t fit today’s problems. Come join your peers and nationally recognized leaders in today’s fire service to learn more, be more.
Learning and leadership are inseparable, but where do we go to hear new ideas on leading in today’s fire service? NYSAFC began the Emergency Services Leadership Symposium in 2008 to give New York’s fire service leaders of all ranks a place to go and push their level of thought about fire department operations, organizations and themselves.
This year NYSAFC has added a new Tactical Hands-On Training component to the Symposium. Team leaders live between task and tactics to help the Command carry out their strategy. NYSAFC’s new tactics based training puts you as the team leader of a seasoned crew to help you learn that you’re not only a firefighter, you are a leader.
