The NYSAFC Codes Committee is pleased to announce a Codes Committee Training program will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. during the association’s 106th Annual Conference & FIRE 2012 Expo at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. Training will be held in Cypress Rooms A & B on Wednesday, the "education only" day of the event, prior to the opening of exhibits. Students can earn eight hours of Code Enforcement Credit from the New York State Codes Division for attending.
The program will feature:
Deputy Chief John Williams, Fairmount Fire Department & Plumbing Control Supervisor, Onondaga County Water Environment Protection
• NYS #49-5700 Residential Plumbing Inspections (2 Hours)
Covers all aspects of plumbing inspections and installations for code officials in a residential setting.
• NYS #49-6178 Fuel Gas and CSST (2 Hours)
Corrugated stainless steel tubing installations and requirements.
Chief Pete Lattanzio, Town of Colonie Fire Services Bureau
• NYS #49-5955 Kitchen Safety Seminar (3 Hours)
Identifies types and style of hoods, associated ductwork, exhaust fans, fire suppression systems, and cleaning requirements.
• NYS #49-5957 Live Burn Demonstration (1 Hour)
Live burn with an actual kitchen hood to show how the suppression system works.
Registration for the program is $90 per person. It includes continental breakfast, lunch, and break refreshments, plus three One Day Tickets for the FIRE 2012 Expo (valid for entry to exhibits only, June 14–16, at Turning Stone Resort).
